Reimagining DEIB for the Future of Work
At The Diversity Doctor, we help organizations move beyond performative gestures and into meaningful, measurable transformation. We partner with leaders to embed belonging, psychological safety, and equity into the DNA of culture — driving real, lasting change in how people lead, connect, and thrive.
Meet Dr. Donna de Haan, Ph.D. Founder,
The Diversity Doctor
With over 20 years' experience spanning academia, consulting, and executive leadership, I blend the rigor of a PhD, the strategic lens of an MBA, and the lived wisdom of building high-performing, inclusive teams.
At a time when DEIB is under pressure, I bring a grounded, relational, and systems-thinking approach to help organizations reimagine what inclusion looks like — not as a box to tick, but as a catalyst for innovation, resilience, and sustainable success.
Our Story: From Intention to Impact
My journey started in academia, leading large, internationally funded research projects focused on the complexities of diversity and inclusion.
While we uncovered valuable insights, too often the journey ended with reports gathering dust — ideas untransformed into action.
I founded The Diversity Doctor to flip the script:
From awareness to accountability,
From data to culture change,
From performative optics to authentic, embedded DEIB strategies.
Today, we meet organizations where they are and guide them toward sustainable transformation — shifting cultures from talk to impact.
Our Philosophy: DEIB Is Personal. Change Is Possible.
At The Diversity Doctor, we believe:
Sustainable impact starts with courageous conversations.
Surface-level fixes won’t dismantle systemic barriers — intentional, relational work will.Belonging doesn’t require you to change who you are — it allows you to be who you are.
We help create cultures where difference is celebrated, not erased.Every day is a school day.
Curiosity is the engine of change. We ask bold questions to uncover root causes and spark fresh thinking.Culture shifts when people do.
We focus on behavior, accountability, and human-centered leadership.
We don't believe in compliance checklists or generic toolkits.
We believe in tailored strategies, shared responsibility, and leadership rooted in empathy, trust, and courage.

That's where our values come into play:
The Diversity Doctor, we're all about making a positive impact with every interaction we have. We understand that small changes can make a big difference in a company's progress toward creating a diverse, inclusive, value-led, and equity-driven (DIVE) culture. We appreciate that each client is unique, with different resources and at different points in their D&I journey. That's why we focus on creating impact by meeting them where they are and supporting them through the next phase of their journey.
We believe that every day is a school day, an opportunity to learn something new. My personal love of learning and teaching comes from the fact that I am constantly curious. I’m the person in the room that asks the WHY question (all the time!). Not just the surface why, but the deep dive why. I’m not interested in simply treating the symptoms of exclusion, I want to understand and treat the cause. So at The Diversity Doctor, we're not afraid to ask questions or challenge the status quo. We practice having courageous conversations daily – think of us as your critical friend. It takes courage to make real change, to challenge the norms, and that's exactly what we're here for.
We believe that true belonging doesn't require you to change who you are; it requires you to be who you are. We want to help organizations create cultures where everyone feels they belong. We actively seek out different perspectives, we listen to different voices, we celebrate individuality, and we value collaboration and connection.
This is personal for me, and I can't wait to share this passion with you. It's about turning the spotlight from mere talk to meaningful action, from awareness to impact, and it's a journey I'm excited to embark on with you.
We’re better together.
As Helen Keller once said...'Alone, we can do so little; together, we can do so much.' Which is why we created The Diversity Doctor Community. This is an online global community of like minded people who share an interest in diversity and inclusion. Our aim is to help turn that interest into impact.
The Diversity Doctor Community is free to join (and of course you're free to leave at anytime). Once a member you will receive a weekly email from me, with bitesize D&I content to help you be more intentionally inclusive throughout the week, and once a month I share a free resource.
